About the Role
Woven Capital seeks a highly motivated individual to join the Portfolio Success team responsible for maximizing the success of portfolio companies by building strategic relationships and collaborations with Toyota business units. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented and entrepreneurial professional with a strong understanding of Toyota and the automotive industry, venture capital dynamics, and how to build strong relationships internally across global business units. The candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, acting as a bridge between cutting-edge startups and the established enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate relationships with Toyota executives and innovation teams, as well as with the leadership of the portfolio companies, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Work with various Toyota business units to understand current innovation efforts, strategic priorities, and areas for external collaboration.
- Identify and present relevant startup investment opportunities from the portfolio to Toyota business units, highlighting potential synergies and value creation.
- Engage subject matter experts within Toyota to gather feedback on presented opportunities, foster discussions, and identify potential partnerships and pilots.
- Develop and maintain in-depth market research, analyze industry trends, conduct competitive analysis, and synthesize opinions from stakeholders to inform investment decisions and portfolio company strategies.
- Advocate for portfolio companies within Toyota, connecting them with relevant stakeholders, potential customers, and business development opportunities.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) of portfolio companies, monitor progress toward strategic goals, and report findings to both the portfolio companies and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive, corporate development, consulting, or a related field with a strong focus on partnerships and ecosystem development.
- Demonstrated understanding of the startup lifecycle and the challenges faced by early and growth-stage companies.
- Familiarity with Toyota's business units, strategic initiatives (e.g., in areas like mobility, AI, and sustainability), and the broader automotive industry ecosystem is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, from entrepreneurs to senior executives.
- Strong analytical abilities, including market research, financial modeling, and the capacity to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive approach, and a passion for supporting groundbreaking innovation.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Engineering) is required; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
