TEAM
The Toyota Woven City is aiming at having a fully connected ecosystem powered by low carbon free energy ("CFE") including renewable power and hydrogen to be built at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. It is envisioned as 'A Living Laboratory' and 'Ever-evolving City', incorporating different types of cutting edge technologies. At the same time, it is also 'Human-Centered,' that is, it will keep people safe and comfortable.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for those who will develop, launch and ever-evolve the power and energy services that are safe, secure, flexible and convenient for people living, working or visiting in Woven City. Energy team plays critical roles in providing next-level city infrastructure and enabling enhanced user experiences of other services in Woven City. You'll be responsible for building strategically significant experiences and creating solutions that solve real-life problems.

You will report to the lead of function, and this job's workplace type is hybrid (office and remote).

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop power procurement plans and negotiate power procurement to ensure a stable and flexible supply of power to stakeholders inside and outside Woven City.
    • Diversify power procurement sources and strive to reduce procurement costs, thereby expanding the renewable energy procurement portfolio.
    • Work closely with the power operation team and others to support the implementation of energy management on and off site through power procurement.
    • Negotiate and enter into agreements with external parties to optimize the environmental value portfolio.
    • Woven City内外の関係者へ安定的、且つ柔軟な電力供給が出来るよう電力調達計画を立案し、電力調達交渉を行うこと
    • 電力調達ソースの多様化を図り、調達コストの低減に努め、その上で結果として再エネ調達ポートフォリオを拡充させること
    • 電力需給運用チーム他と密に連携し、電力調達を通じ所内外のエネマネ実施を支援すこと
    • 環境価値ポートフォリオ最適化すべく、社外関係先との交渉・契約締結を行うこと

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5 years or more of practical experience related to the above
    • Self-starter and service-oriented person who could look for ways to help people
    • Integrity and Customer Focus with flexibility in a fast speed environment
    • Collaborative business style to bring multiple parties together to resolve an issue
    • Willing to train, coach, supervise, and motivate the team members
    • Business level English and Japanese proficiency.

NICE TO HAVES

    • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related experience.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP), Japan Chief Electrical Engineer (ECEE), Japan Qualified Person for Energy Management (ECCJ), or other certification.
    • Knowledge of electrical, energy and communication system standards and laws (grid interconnection regulations, technical standards for electrical equipment, IEC, communication protocols, etc.)
    • MBA or another advanced degree preferred, if any.
    • Knowledge of Japanese energy markets including energy services business such as ancillary services / capacity market. US/Europe experience and knowledge on the power market.
    • 機械工学、電気工学もしくはそれらに関連する経験を持つ修士
    • プロジェクトマネジメントプロフェッショナル(PMP)、電気主任技術者(ECEE)、エネルギー管理士(電気)などの資格保有者
    • 電気、エネルギーや通信のシステムの規格、法令の知識(系統連系規定、電気設備の技術基準、IEC、通信プロトコルなど)
    • MBA、若しくは学位以上の卒業資格(若し保有していれば)
    • 日本のエネルギー市場に関する知識(含、アンシラリー サービス・容量市場などのエネルギーサービスビジネス)。 電力市場に関する米国/ヨーロッパの経験と知識(プラス評価)。
