TEAM
This team will provide concept hardware and software solutions driven by high-quality UX research that defines an end-to-end product definition for Toyota’s next-generation vehicles. This concept work will produce a full-stack solution starting with the digital services, the programmable software system, and the underlying compute and electrical architecture of the vehicle. You'll report to a manager in California and work with teammates in the US and Japan. You will do about 10% travel. This is a hybrid role based in our Nihonbashi HQ.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
As a member of Arene Advanced Development, you will develop applications for a modern vehicle operating system and platform, focusing on advanced sensors, visual displays and software for next-generation vehicles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop a variety of applications and software, utilizing new technologies, APIs, and SDKs, as part of an agile global team. You'll contribute to the entire engineering lifecycle for vehicle software, supporting new sensors, hardware, and user interfaces
    • Customize and modify automotive experiences for Japanese customers and integrate with market-specific services
    • Provide customer-centric feedback and gather requirements from automotive production teams to make the proof-of-concept projects a success

REQUIREMENTS:

    • Strong C++ and Python programming skills, the primary language is not C
    • Strong proficiency in Japanese required to speak with domestic Japanese automotive production teams

NICE TO HAVES:

    • B.S., M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
    • Experience to make presentations to non-technical executives
    • Motivated to take automotive applications development (C++, Adaptive Autosar) from R&D phase to a product
    • Software development for systems with live sensor inputs (cameras, etc), user interfaces (IVI, IC), embedded, mobile / web back-end, and computer vision
