TEAM
Teammate Driving (POV BEV) team develops a lane keeping feature which is one of the most fundamental features of automated driving systems, and map information provision services used in automated driving systems. The mission of the Testing Engineer is to set, evaluate, and provide feedback to designers on the functionality, performance, and quality criteria of software implemented based on system requirements, in order to improve the performance and quality of the product. In addition, we are to implement these products into Toyota’s next-generation driver assistance systems “Toyota Safety Sense” and “Teammate”, to provide safer driving and more comfortable mobility to customers all over the world.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for engineer who can operate and analyze problems and manage issues with AD/ADAS vehicle evaluation to improve software performance and quality, and who can propose new values and communicate effectively to build good relationships with software engineer, test driver and various collaborators. You will need to regularly come to the office in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, and conduct field tests at the test course in Higashi-Fuji, Shizuoka, Japan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
・Build and manage evaluation plans that meet Project status
・Build test scenarios for system requirements
・Testing on actual vehicles and identifying the causes of issues identified
・Promote problem management and solving in agile development
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The following skills and experience are required.
・Technical
・Vehicle evaluation operations
・Ability to verify that software requirements are met from the user’s perspective
・Ability to management SW via Git
・Knowledge of AD (Automated Driving)/ADAS (Advanced driver assistance system) and understanding of the interaction of each technology
・Management
・Excellent problem solving skills, hypothesis verification and task management skills
・Documentation skills
・Ability to plan to structure a variety of information and develop a coherent plan
・Language
・Business level Japanese (JLPT N2 or above)
NICE TO HAVES
- Basic knowledge of C++ / Python
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with agile software management tools (e.g. JIRA)
- Knowledge/ Development experience with on-vehicle electronic systems
- Knowledge/experience with database handling
- Experience with FMEA/FTA
- Experience with AD/ADAS development
- Business level English
