TEAM
Arene is a modern software platform that supports the creation, deployment and continuous improvement of software-defined vehicles. Arene consists of tooling, vehicle software, and a data platform to enable rapid development and reuse, while maintaining safety and security.
Arene data provides a secure and scalable cloud location for the data generated during the development of software defined vehicles, which in turn enables data-driven decisions, supports the Toyota Production System, drives customer value, generates revenue, and reduces product time-to-market. The Market data collection as part of the wider Arene Data ecosystem, is responsible to collect, prepare and provide actual and simulated vehicle data to internal and external customers within the TMC group. One of the main use-cases is the improvement of ADAS functionalities.
You will report to the Head of Arene Data, and the role is Onsite.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for leaders who are willing to work with the team and are passionate about building a data platform to support the mobility services of the future and enable data-driven decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, and maintain large scale data ingestion, storage, and processing systems
- Work with product owners, senior leaders, and software engineers to find solutions tailored to Arene and Toyota's needs
- Define a technology strategy together with Arene Leadership for a sustainable, maintainable business model around data
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering
- 2+ years in managing and leading engineering teams
- Strong experience in managing data at scale
- Strong experience with cloud-based microservice architecture, event-driven, distributed architectures
- Knowledge of best practices for data privacy, scalability, reliability, and security
- Proficient/fluent in Japanese business communication
NICE TO HAVES:
- Familiarity with data warehouse, data lake, and/or data lakehouse solutions (Snowflake, Apache Hudi, Apache Iceberg, Databricks)
- Experience with data streaming technologies (Kafka, AWS Kinesis, etc.)
- Familiarity with stream processing solutions (Flink, Kafka Streams, Spark, etc.)
- Familiarity with ML technologies especially in the field of image recognition
- Experience with data lifecycle products (data catalogs, lineage, governance, etc.)
