WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Full-stack) to join our Product & Engineering group and help us create unique experiences for users. You will be passionate about taking ownership of a broad, evolving problem space, and rely on your technical expertise to guide us through product development. You will contribute to our technology and architecture strategy for the system, working with Product Managers and Product Designers to create PoCs which allow usability testing and gather user feedback before we commit our engineering resources to a solution.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering (Interim), you will be an advocate for modern development practices and achieving our vision of staying "highly aligned and loosely coupled" across our teams.
We have a hybrid work style and our office is in Nihombashi, Tokyo.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee a problem space end-to-end, and lead technical understanding and collaboration across missions and squads
- Promote best practices to the engineering team, perform code reviews, and advocate for high-quality solutions
- Help other engineers grow through mentoring
- Lead our post-mortem and incident management processes to ensure the product that we develop meets the quality and stability that our users expect
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience developing B2B/B2C SaaS applications using modern programming languages, frameworks, and technologies
- 2+ years of assigning tasks and planning work for a small team of developers to implement complex features in a collaborative way
- You understand software architecture patterns, security, and can lead development of complex and scalable systems, and have in-depth experience with React and AWS
- You have experience on domain-driven design (DDD) and test-driven development (TDD)
- You are comfortable with speaking and presenting in English at a professional level
NICE TO HAVES
- You have experience engineering SaaS businesses for the Japan or APAC market within the HRTech/EdTech space
- You have experience with GoLang and an understanding of its best practices
- You have a understanding of MLOps, data engineering, and data structures
- You can use Japanese in daily life
