TEAM
Team members of the Chief Engineer Office are expected to exemplify what it means to be a highly-effective cross-functional individual contributor. They are expected to be the go-to people for their area of specialization by having built respect and trust within Woven. Team members' work is expected to have multiplicative effects on the work of other teams within Arene, while cutting across organizational boundaries and ensuring that Woven delivers the right thing, with high quality, on time, at the right cost.
You will report to the Chief Engineer, and this role's workplace type is hybrid - you will work in the office at least 3 days per week.

We are looking for a professional that can lead and manage a team of skilled system and software architects, that can define and implement architectural strategies, standards, and best practices to enable the development of innovative, high-quality, and secure software solutions. Besides technical soundness the Architects Lead will display excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate architectural solutions encompassing diverse software products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead a team of software and system architects, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team
    • Support architects in the definition and implementation of the software architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry standards
    • As an experienced architect, actively participate in the most critical and/or challenging architectural designs
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and quality assurance, to ensure cohesive and effective architectural design and implementation
    • Drive architectural decisions for complex software systems, considering scalability, performance, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations
    • Develop and maintain software architectural blueprints, design patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistency and maintainability across products and projects
    • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and tools that align with the automotive software industry's evolving landscape
    • Participate in the definition of coding standards, development methodologies, and best practices to enhance software quality and efficiency
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize technical requirements, ensuring they are effectively translated into architectural solutions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • 10 years of proven experience in software architecture roles, ideally in a safety critical industry
    • 3 years of experience leading teams
    • Proficient in software development methodologies, design patterns, and architectural frameworks
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team
    • Ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, ensuring successful execution of architectural plans
    • Familiarity with relevant programming languages, frameworks, and technologies used in Automotive or other safety critical software development
    • UML knowledge

NICE TO HAVES:

    • Strong knowledge of automotive software development, including industry standards, safety, and security requirementsSysML knowledge
    • Represent the company in technical discussions, conferences, and industry events to showcase our expertise and thought leadership in automotive software architecture
    • Certifications related to software architecture, automotive software, or related areas
    • Japanese language ability
