TEAM
Our team, Digital Twin Platform, as one of the core Woven Inventor Garage teams under the Woven City umbrella, is responsible for the realization of Woven City's vision: "Expand mobility. Enhance humanity. Engage society" by developing a robust software platform, on one hand to enable inventors and business owners to "test" their products in a virtual environment before deploying to the physical Woven City; on the other hand, to create analytics to assist in decision making based on both simulated results and more importantly operational data collected from the physical city, such as residents daily life, traffic dynamics, energy consumption, etc.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking a highly skilled technical engineer to join our team focused on advancing our core technology for digital twin simulation. You will play a key role in designing and implementing robust and scalable code for our platform’s simulation engine, as well as the libraries for empowering internal teams to create impactful simulations for our customers. Candidates should have a strong background in software development and systems architecture, with experience in creating and maintaining tools and frameworks that are utilized by other developers. While specific experience in simulation technology is not required, a proven ability to maintain and deploy high quality code is essential. Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills are crucial, as you will work closely with multiple teams to drive innovation and achieve impactful results.
You will be reporting to the Digital Twin Simulation Technology sub-function manager, and this is a hybrid work style role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain our simulation SDK used by internal and external simulation developers to provide accurate data for their digital twin projects
- Optimising and enhancing our cutting-edge simulation engine to provide more accurate results and insights for Toyota’s Woven City and beyond
- Collaborating with engagement teams to design and implement innovative simulation solutions solving customer needs in logistics, manufacturing and mobility domains
- Contributing to the growth of our internal developer ecosystem including CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, documentation and more
- Working with other engineers to drive project success through best practices, agile development processes and building a culture of engineering excellence
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Hands-on experience working with modern languages (C#, C++, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
- Experience developing and/or maintaining software libraries either commercially or open-source
- Proven experience building and deploying high-quality production level code following modern software development best practices
- Systems design experience, with the ability to architect or explain complex systems interactions including data flows, common interfaces, APIs, and other methods
- Business level proficiency in English and the ability to effectively manage various stakeholders
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience working with simulation technologies or platforms
- Familiarity with the .NET ecosystem and development practices
- Experience in supporting developers and collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams
- Knowledge in areas such as software test frameworks, network programming, or industrial simulation
- Experience in roles such as Technical Lead or System Architect
- Conversation Level proficiency in Japanese
