To execute our mission we are building an integrated team of world class data, product, technology and operations professionals.

As a WovenLight Data Engineer you will support the development and productionisation of data and analytics products within our clients. The ultimate objective being significant operational and financial improvement at those organisations.

Examples of projects you could work on include:
Optimisation modelling to improve manufacturing throughput
Predictive modelling to anticipate/avoid asset downtime
Predicting and reducing customer churn
Identifying next best action for sales agents
Geospatial modelling to improve store footprint

You will commonly work alongside a WovenLight team of 3-4 people, comprised of Project Delivery colleagues, Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Machine Learning Engineers.

Your contribution within this team will include:
Working with a range of stakeholders to understand, assess and map the company's data landscape
Collaborating with data science colleagues to map data fields to hypotheses in order to curate, wrangle, and prepare data for use in advanced analytical models
Acquiring, ingesting, and processing data from multiple sources and systems
Building modular pipelines to construct features and modelling tables
Architecting and building production services and data systems that are scaleable and robust
Ensuring sustained impact from this work by applying best practices in data management, model management and/or algorithmic lifecycle management

The successful candidate will have the some of the following attributes:

    • Passion and expertise in applying data and analytics to deliver commercial impact (2+ years)
    • Bachelor’s degree (at least 2:1) or higher in a quantitative subject
    • Experience with Python, SQL
    • Expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform
    • Ability to work with a range of database technologies. We would not expect anyone to know all of these but these are some of the technologies we use: distributed processing (e.g. Spark), traditional RDBMS (e.g. PostgreSQL), MPP (e.g. AWS Redshift), NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB), ETL tooling, CI/CD, Github and Kedro.
    • Good communication skills - able to explain complex analytical concepts to individuals from other fields


Our core team is based in London. Interviews for this role will be conducted via a combination of phone, video-conference and in person.
