ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY:
The HSS Housing Specialist will be responsible for administering the Housing Stabilization Support (HSS) Program for eligible clients. The Specialist will help identify and procure safe and affordable housing for all clients. 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients seeking HSS assistance. As such, the coordinator will: 
    • 1. Schedule and conduct client intakes;
      2. Collect client documents and maintain program files in accordance with HSS and client confidentiality guidelines;
      3. Attend HSS meetings to stay up-to-date on program changes;
      4. File monthly billing and MCR to DSHS.   

    • Demonstrate professionalism and excellence in carrying out all required functions as determined by World Relief and other official grantors and partners
    • Maintain open, ongoing communication with staff, volunteers, and community partners on behalf of clients, while honoring confidentiality
    • Actively participate in department meetings, staff development opportunities, program trainings, community activities, and organizational events
    • Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to facilitate volunteer connection and support for all interested cases
    • Other related duties, as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Mature and personal Christian faith
    • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
    • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
    • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
    • BA/BS or work experience in a relevant field such as Social Work, International Studies, Public Health, etc.
    • Social work/social services experience
    • Knowledge of and experience with employment
    • Cross-cultural experience
    • Direct-service experience with vulnerable populations
    • Experience working with government agencies such as Social Services, Social Security, Health Department, etc.
    • Valid driver’s license, willingness to drive clients to appointments 
    • Proficiency with MS Office suite and Google Drive products

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bilingual Candidates Preferred
    • Highly self-motivated with strong follow-through and problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency with MS Office suite and Google Drive products
    • Valid driver’s license, willingness to drive clients to appointments
    • Flexible schedule for occasional work during early mornings, late evenings or weekends
$21 - $22 an hour
