World Relief Quad Cities seeks a Public Benefits Intern to support the Immigrant Family Resource Program (IFRP) team as they secure resources, benefits and assistance for refugees and immigrants. By working closely with the IFRP Manager, this position will support the common goal of welcoming refugees and supporting their long-term integration through performing essential tasks related to public benefits.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete in-take and assessment documentation, connecting clients with public benefits and essential resources.
- Empower clients through IDHS workshops, helping them manage their cases and gain self-sufficiency.
- Develop partnerships with community organizations to expand support networks and services.
- Maintain accurate case notes and confidential records, ensuring compliance with data protection laws.
- Plan and organize community events, promoting public relations and engagement with up to 100 participants.
- Provide administrative support including: Schedule appointments, meetings, and maintaining calendars.
- Opening, sorting, and distributing incoming mail and correspondence.
- Preparing and proofreading reports, memos, letters, and other documents.
- Managing office supplies and inventory; placing orders as needed.
- Answering and directing phone calls, taking messages, and responding to inquiries.
- Maintaining digital and physical filing systems for efficient recordkeeping.
- Supervisory duties as directed by program management.
- Designate tasks and support workflow continuity in the absence of the manager.
- Assist in coordinating travel arrangements and tracking reimbursement documentation.
- Support onboarding and training processes for new staff, interns and volunteers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Experience in Social Work or related fields (preferred). Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief’s desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities.
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Relief’s Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals for the Health of The Nation document.

- General knowledge of public benefits and assistance.
- Flexibility and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced work environment.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and effectively in cross-cultural settings.
- Good time management and multi-tasking skills.
$21 - $21.50 an hour
