ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

This position is reliant upon funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on resource availability.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Intake Case Specialist is the first contact at World Relief Aurora and for immigrants and refugees seeking social services. This position is responsible for collecting client information and documentation, referring to internal services and external service providers as appropriate. This position includes case management, employment knowledge, and referral follow-up responsibilities.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct initial client intake to collect demographic information, gather client documentation, and assess program eligibility
- Provide basic orientation to services that WRC offers and assist client to enroll in services based on client needs
- Set-up initial appointment for client with appropriate internal staff; follow-up on appointment to ensure that client make connection with appropriate staff
- Make internal referrals to WRC social services programs (case management, employment services, children & youth services, mental health counseling) and other WRC programs (ESL, Immigration Legal Services). Including helping to search for a job, to submit job applications, and more.
- Provide referrals to community agencies and organizations for clients seeking services that WRC does not offer; follow-up on referrals to ensure that client was able to connect with the recommended resource
- Maintain internal library of community organizations and agencies in order to make timely, appropriate client referrals; perform outreach to organizations to create partnerships as necessary
- Provide immediate assistance for certain case management needs including follow-up
- Assist eligible clients to apply for appropriate government benefits
- Maintain timely and accurate client files, case notes, and reporting records
- Manage and oversee the collection and submission of interpreter invoices
- Provide backup support for front desk position
- Actively participate in department meetings, staff development opportunities, program trainings, community activities, and organizational events
- Attend external community meetings to build relationships with community agencies
- Responsibilities may include regularly scheduled workdays at an off-site location
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Fluency in Spanish required
- MS Office skills required
- Cross-cultural experience required
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluency in an additional language such as French, Arabic, Ukrainian, Russian, Swahili, Lingala, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Assyrian, or Rohingya is preferred
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow-through on projects and assignments
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed, accurate records
- Highly self-motivated with good follow-through and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn different immigration statuses and subsequent benefits eligibility
- Ability to networking and establish relationships for the purpose of developing referral contacts
- Strong interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills
$23 - $24 an hour
