World Relief seeks a Mental Health Coordinator to assess newcomers mental health, well-being and resilience at several stages of the welcome and resettlement process. The ideal candidate will utilize mental health experience alongside screening tools to determine newcomers’ mental health risks and need to access clinical mental health resources or community based psychosocial support. This position will build a portfolio of referrals to community clinical mental health resources and liaise directly with the World Relief Western Washington (WRWW) Resilience Team staff to provide psychosocial supports.

Role & Responsibilities

    • CLIENT SERVICES
    • Complete screening assessments with newly arrived refugee clients at regular intervals spanning R&P and PC programs
    • Assist resettlement case managers in recognizing mental health needs and developing a support plan
    • Proactively work with caseworkers to ensure smooth enrollment in PC for cases in need of long-term case management regarding mental health
    • Build portfolio of community mental health resources and provide warm referrals when appropriate
    • Coordinate and consult with WRWW Resilience Programs to ensure smooth referrals and program continuity
    • Work with the Pre-Arrival team and RHPP to support medically complex cases
    • Case note and proactively document assessments and outcomes of cases
    • Provide monthly trainings to staff on mental health/trauma informed care
    • Collaborate, consult, and partner with local service providers
    • Ensure professional and timely provision of all necessary services   

    • ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Practice confidentiality in practice, language, and record keeping in accordance with applicable licensure requirements and office policies
    • Maintain professional competency through continuing education 
    • Actively participate in monthly staff meeting
    • Submit any requested data to the program manager through monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports 
    • Maintain accurate and organized files and records of services provided 
    • Adhere to all World Relief policies, including but not limited to, incident reporting procedures, code of conduct, security safety and health 
    • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned

Requirements

    • Mature and personal Christian faith
    • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
    • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
    • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
    • Advanced degree in mental health/social services or equivalent experience required
    • Case management experience strongly preferred 
    • A heart for service for vulnerable people
    • Cross-cultural experience strongly preferred
    • Ability to work well on own and manage own program
    • MS Office skills required 
    • Highly self-motivated with strong follow-through and problem-solving skills 
    • Direct-service experience with vulnerable populations preferred 
    • Valid driver’s license, regular access to vehicle, and ability/willingness to drive clients to appointments 
    • Occasional evenings or weekends required
$29.50 - $30.40 an hour

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 
 
·         General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.
·         Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.
·         Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
