World Relief seeks an Intake, Assessment and Referral (IAR) specialist to serve Cuban/Haitian entrants, Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees, and other ORR eligible populations that have not arrived through traditional resettlement processes by assessing needs, making community referrals, and providing ongoing support over the course of this 90-day program. The IAR specialist works directly with eligible populations to promote successful community integration and long-term self-sufficiency. 

Compensation: $27.75 - $28.60 per hour

Role & Responsibilities

    • Conduct initial intake to collect demographic data and assess program eligibility 
    • Conduct comprehensive family assessment with each participant, developing individual service plans
    • Provide case management services which help participants achieve basic self-sufficiency benchmarks and meet service plans' goals
    • Conduct regular check-ins 
    • Empower participants to achieve their goals through skill-building and resource access.
    • Provide participants and their sponsors with resources and training as necessary to ensure core services are completed
    • Document participant information to appropriate administrative staff
    • Make internal referrals as appropriate 
    • Keep all information updated in a secure database
    • Establish and maintain community connections that are relevant and beneficial to participants 
    • Provide referrals and complete follow-up to ensure participants have been connected   
    • Administrative Responsibilities:   
    • Maintain timely and accurate case files, case notes, and reporting records
    • Maintain internal library of community organizations and agencies to make timely, appropriate referrals; outreach organizations to create partnerships as needed 
    • Attend external community meetings to build relationships with community agencies
    • Collaborate with volunteers to support the work of volunteers engaging with clients 
    • Work closely with internal service teams and external service providers to ensure comprehensive service provision
    • Attend all relevant internal meetings

    • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, in English
    • Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and effectively in cross-cultural settings, while communicating cross-culturally
    • Ability to evaluate and respond to crises
    • Ability to maintain professionalism, dependability, and excellent follow-through
    • Ability to prioritize tasks
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed, accurate records 
    • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and problem-solve
    • Knowledge of state and federal benefits system preferred
    • Previous work experience with immigrants or refugees preferred
    • Individuals with lived immigrant experience are strongly encouraged to apply
    • Working knowledge of phone and laptop functionality

    • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
    • Experience working cross culturally and with preliterate and/or non-native English speakers
    • Flexibility and desire to learn and serve others 
    • Ability to read and write proficiently in English
    • Ability to work well as part of a team and with diverse groups of people
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office   
    • Valid driver's license

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·         Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.
·         Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
