World Relief seeks a Early Childhood Specialist. This position has the primary responsibility to serve immigrant families, including refugees, with children under the age of five. The Early Childhood Specialist provides case management for children birth through five years of age, assisting with WIC enrollment providing community referrals, assisting with preschool enrollment, facilitating a parent/child playgroup and other parent engagement and educational initiatives.

    • Early Childhood Case Management
    • Complete an intake for children in the family birth–5 years, then implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate a plan in response to the determined needs
    • Assist with initial WIC enrollment and provide ongoing WIC education
    • Provide car seats and parent education on car seat safety laws and car seat installation
    • Conduct home visits regularly to assess and evaluate the implementation of the family plan
    • Educate parents on developmental milestones
    • Provide parents with an early childhood orientation and additional parent education
    • Plan, coordinate and implement parent/child playgroup
    • Refer parents to early intervention and community resources for their child’s needs
    • Collaborate with community partners and schools to build meaningful relationships
    • Collaborate and communicate with WR Chicagoland staff
    • Advocate for families
    • Manage Aurora early childhood volunteers, interns, and/or work-study students
    • Participate in weekly team meetings Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Children & Youth Services

Requirements

$20 - $23 an hour
Commensurate with experience
