ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.

Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.

POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief is seeking a short-term contractor to adapt internal support and resource materials used for ESL program implementation into user-friendly, externally facing documents. These materials will equip churches, community centers, and volunteer-led programs to launch and sustain high-quality ESL services in their communities. The internal content is largely complete; the contractor will focus on restructuring, editing, and visually formatting the materials for clarity, accessibility, and ease of use by non-educators. 

This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until September 30, 2025 and contingent upon funding extension.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Review internal ESL program guides, training materials, and resource documents provided by World Relief.   
    • Identify key sections and content requiring adaptation for external use.   
    • Edit and restructure text for clarity, tone, and audience appropriateness.   
    • Design layouts and create templates (e.g., handouts, checklists, step-by-step guides).   
    • Incorporate feedback from World Relief’s Education & ESL team.   
    • Prepare final versions in accessible file formats (PDF, editable Word/PowerPoint, Canva). 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
    • Strong communication skills, Ability to simplify complex or technical content for audiences without formal education backgrounds
    • Proficiency in creating visually engaging layouts using tools like Canva and Microsoft suite
    • Skill in managing a short-term, deliverable-based project with multiple feedback loops and deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • TESL/TEFL/TESOL Or ESL Certification or Education background, Content Design, Instructional Design
$40 - $40 an hour
