The Resettlement Case Aide (R&P Team) provides critical support to the R&P team, primarily through direct client services.  This includes, but is not limited to, transportation assistance, appointment navigation and interpretation. 

Role & Responsibilities

    • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
    • Assisting newly arrived refugees to navigate appointments and community resources
    • Conducting bus orientation for newly arrived refugees
    • Providing transportation to/from essential appointments
    • Interpretation for client appointments with case worker or in classes
    • Keeping records of services performed through case notes and database entries
    • Assisting with maintenance of case files •Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Bilingual in English and a second language (Arabic, Pashto, Dari, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Burmese, Sango or Tigrinya.) •Ability to confidently communicate with and coach newly arrived refugees 
    • Basic proficiency MS Office programs
    • Intermediate speed typing skills (30-40 words per minute)
    • Detail oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks and demands 
    • Enjoy working in a fast paced, challenging, and multi-cultural environment. 
    • Able to work well with others in a professional, friendly, and flexible manner.
    • Ability to problem solve independently and improve office functions independently 

Requirements

    • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
    • Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience
    • 6 months’ minimum experience in refugee resettlement or related field
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to transport clients to appointments
    • Personal Christian faith and a heart for serving vulnerable people
