ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY:

World Relief seeks a full-time Transportation Assistant to assist caseworkers in the Extended Case Management program (ECM) and the Preferred Communities program (PC ICM) and provide transportation and case management pertaining to transportation needs to refugees and immigrants to help them thrive in the Quad Cities community after their initial resettlement period. This position would serve those who have been in the US between 6-50 months who are enrolled in the Extended Case Management (ECM) program or the Preferred Communities program (PC ICM). 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Take clients to and from appointments, school, or community events
    • Provide case transportation case management services in accordance with grant agreements and tailored to each client’s individual needs
    • Assist clients in navigating public transportation in the Quad Cities
    • Teach clients on how to contact their medical insurance to schedule rides
    • Complete car seat safety trainings and conduct trainings to clients
    • Assist clients through the process of obtaining a driver’s permit or license in the United States
    • Document all services provided in a timely and organized manner
    • Work with colleagues/interns, resettlement partners, volunteers, and World Relief staff to ensure that client’s needs are met in a planned, effective, and timely manner, while honoring confidentiality
    • Collaborate with other World Relief staff through daily communication and weekly meetings
    • Perform all duties in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Mature and personal Christian faith
    • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
    • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
    • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
    • Strong interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed, accurate records
    • Task oriented with excellent time management and problem-solving skills
    • Applicants must have a learning mindset. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Fluency in Arabic, Burmese, Ukrainian, Swahili, French, Spanish, Pashto, or Dari strongly preferred

$17 - $19 an hour
