ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

This position is contingent upon the successful acquisition of additional funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on the availability of resources.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Education Coordinator will strengthen and enhance educational programming across departments. This role will lead cross-departmental collaboration to evaluate, align, and improve educational standards for refugee and immigrant services. The Education Coordinator will also support curriculum development, volunteer engagement, and implementation of adult learning best practices across multiple learning environments—including in-person and virtual classrooms.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Evaluate Educational Programming: Assess educational content and delivery across departments to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with client needs and learning outcomes.   
    • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work with program leads (e.g., Resettlement, Employment, Youth Services, and others) to revise and enhance educational standards, ensuring a unified, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach.   
    • Volunteer Recruitment & Training: Assist in designing and implementing strategies to recruit, train, and support educational volunteers and instructors across all relevant program areas.   
    • Program Development & Support: Collaborate on the development and delivery of educational offerings such as: Cultural Orientation, ESL and Vocational, ESL Job Readiness Workshops, Digital Literacy, Health and Wellness Workshops, Social Adjustment, Life Skills, and Other Educational Workshops   
    • Adult Learning Best Practices: Promote and implement evidence-based practices in adult education, including differentiated instruction, goal setting, and learner engagement strategies, both in-person and online. 
    • Leverage National Resources: Utilize curriculum, tools, and training materials provided by World Relief’s Home Office to enhance local educational programming.   
    • Resource Creation: As needed, develop customized training materials, lesson plans, and implementation tools to address local program needs and fill content gaps.   
    • Support Program Evaluation: Contribute to monitoring and evaluation efforts by collecting feedback, tracking outcomes, and recommending improvements for future iterations. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
    • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, social work, or related field (or equivalent work experience)   
    • Experience in curriculum development and/or program evaluation 
    • Knowledge of adult learning theory and best practices in educational delivery   
    • Demonstrated experience working in cross-cultural or refugee/immigrant education settings   
    • Strong facilitation and communication skills, including ability to lead training sessions   
    • Collaborative, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously   
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, or similar)   

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience with ESL instruction or job readiness training   
    • Knowledge of digital literacy tools and remote learning strategies 
    • Experience supervising volunteers or educators 
$27 - $29 an hour
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
