ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is housed within World Relief Chicagoland’s Adult Education Department, as a part of their Job & Career Readiness team, helping equip students to enter the workforce with the necessary skills for success. The content co-teacher will demonstrate expertise in the industry specific course field and be able to provide instruction, modeling, and support to students in the assigned class(es). This role will also utilize multilingualism for recruitment and enrollment efforts for the course(s). The co-teacher will support learners and the ELA lead teacher with multilingual demonstrations. The co-teacher will also provide content area guidance during curriculum development.
This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until June 30, 2026 and contingent upon funding extension.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enrollment
- Provide interpretation for live student registrations, enrollment, and attendance
- Provide interpretation for video and text recorded messages for student registrations
- Curriculum
- Provide guidance and inform development of industry specific unit outlines, lesson plans, and hands-on activities
- Ensure course meets level specific needs, industry specific needs, and learner specific needs Instruction
- Provide carefully crafted lessons and hands-on demonstrations for work skills being taught
- In collaboration with lead teacher, design lesson plans for each class period to support learner needs both with the language, the industry content, and US workforce practices
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Multilingual (can fluently speak at least one other language)
- Skilled in industry specific course content (e.g. Sewing)
- Able to transport self to Lombard classroom site on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30AM-12:30PM

- Ability to work well within a team
- Self-paced and self-motivated for independent projects
- Able to defer decisions and leadership to appropriate channels and maintain professional student-teacher rapport
$22 - $24.50 an hour
