The Preferred Communities Assistant will support the implementation of refugee and new arrival assistance programs for Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees, Haitian and Cuban arrivals, and other eligible walk-in clients. This position will provide direct client, client sponsor, and program support. The Assistant will work closely with other program staff to ensure services are coordinated and designed to assist clients in reaching self-sufficiency.

    • Under the supervision of the PC Senior Specialist, the PC Assistant will:
    • Support PC IAR, PC Gaps, and the walk-in intake/referral process.
    • Conduct client intakes, needs assessments, financial assistance, follow-up check-ins, and closeouts for PC clients.
    • Establish and maintain community partnerships and develop local resources for clients.
    • Collaborate with mobilization staff in providing clients with volunteer support.
    • Oversee outreach and community engagement efforts among PC client communities.
    • Help walk-in clients navigate internal referral process to Upstate SC programs.
    • Maintain and monitor program activities, case files, and client database to ensure compliance and that targets are met.
    • Work with supervisor to complete all PC program reports.
    • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Experience working in case management or with vulnerable populations strongly preferred
    • Detail-oriented, excellent time management skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Skill and sensitivity working with people from various backgrounds and beliefs
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision and resolve problems/issues promptly and effectively
    • Ability to work well on a team in a synergistic work environment, a flexible and motivated team player
    • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and organize in a fast-paced and fluid environment
    • Valid driver’s license, regular access to vehicle is preferred

Requirements

    • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
    • Experience providing client support in a nonprofit setting preferred
    • Fluency in English and a second language (preferred Spanish)
    • Cross-cultural experience strongly preferred
$18 - $20 an hour
