About the Role
As the Senior Backend Engineer for Wristcheck you’ll be working cross-functionally with our Tech team to build, develop, test and debug responsive web and mobile applications for our e-commerce marketplace (C2B2C and B2B) platform. From launching innovative solutions, driving efficiency through automation, and ensuring a secure and robust system, your work will form the backbone of our vision to revolutionize the watch industry. You’ll work in a fast growing, dynamic and international team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop secure and scalable backend systems that deliver robust and lightning-fast endpoints
- Coordinate and communicate seamlessly with multiple stakeholders (Product Managers, Designers, Front End Developers) to understand how to interface backend development with the rest of our ecosystem
- Working with CI/CD with github actions, Terraform and AWS
- Mentor and review pull requests from junior engineers
- Develop our core backend system and make decisions on application architecture.
What you’ll bring:
- Degree holder in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- 4 - 8 years of experience in backend development using Node.js, Typescript (Express, Nestjs)
- Golang, Rust experience is a plus but not required
- Exceptional experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres) and ORM framework such as TypeORM, Prisma
- Experience with gRPC, Event Sourcing is greatly desired.
- Experience with OpenAPI is a plus but not required
- Experience in deploying and managing application servers on AWS
- Familiarity with Git and version control
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English is preferred but not required
- Understanding and appreciation of watches is a plus but not a requirement - we’ll teach you everything you need to know
