The Associate Engineer provides support in developing/engineering of complex hardware/software systems.

Capabilities

    • Prepare and maintain operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
    • Work with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials
    • Work on all phases of documentation
    • Understand basic concepts and write technical copy for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexity
    • Prepare reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences
    • Coordinate layout and design of documents
    • Understand basic concepts (to include basic grammar concepts), responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents
    • Developing documentation required to support a program's technical issues and training situations.
    • Assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
    • Understand basic concepts (to include basic grammar concepts), responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents
    • Gather technical information, prepares written text
    • Maintain a current internal documentation library
    • Use multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc.

Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in a field is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to four (4) years of experience. NOTE: A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
    • Bachelor's degree and zero (0) years of experience OR no Bachelor's and four (4) years of experience in development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software/system development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, and testing of complex hardware/software systems is required.
    • Familiar with the software development process described in the J-STD-016 and IEEE/EIA 12207, "Information technology-Software life cycle processes" and possesses at least one(1) year of experience developing software in accordance with these standards OR requirements analysis, modeling and measurement.
    • Understanding of agile and/or spiral development models.
    • Basic understanding of Object Oriented and Structured development methodologies and languages.
    • TS/SCI with Agency Appropriate Polygraph
