What will you do?
As part of X1’s small (but growing) compliance team, you’ll help X1 ensure it is following all customer-facing legal and regulatory requirements and responding to customer feedback and complaints appropriately.  You’ll have a role in everything X1’s compliance team manages on a day-to-day basis, including:

- Assist with the centralized complaint management process to ensure complaints and inquiries are appropriately recorded, and categorized, investigated thoroughly, and resolved timely.
- Research customer concerns, identify root causes, make recommendations to affect change in current procedures/practices, and work across departmental lines as needed to reach the best outcome.
- Draft and/or review and approve responses to escalated complaints (e.g. UDAAP/ Fair Lending) and regulatory complaints. 
- Assist with compliance monitoring, testing and exception reporting initiatives and projects, including suggesting and rolling out process improvements based on identified gaps.
- Draft, review and revise internal compliance policies and operational procedures in collaboration with the X1 legal team and operations staff.
- Review proposed marketing materials for compliance with regulatory requirements and potential UDAAP/customer confusion issues.
- Directly communicate with our bank partner to triage and/or fulfill data and other requests in connection with their oversight of the X1 program. 
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Who are you?
- At least 3 years experience in a consumer financial services compliance role that required investigative problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions about risks and recommended action
- Deep understanding of laws and regulations relating to consumer financial services, including TILA, FCRA, EFTA/Reg E, MLA/SCRA, ECOA, E-SIGN, UDAAP, GLBA, BSA/AML and others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to clearly and concisely communicate compliance issues to other internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with creating reproducible and well-documented code in SQL or another language is preferred.
- Ability to craft structure within ambiguity and juggle multiple projects
- Can work autonomously and make judgment calls with confidence 
- Hungry to learn and grow alongside a growing business
