As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will be the first point of contact for potential customers. You will play a crucial role in driving the growth of the company by prospecting and qualifying leads, setting appointments, and helping sales teams convert these leads into clients. You will be responsible for identifying potential business opportunities, establishing relationships with key decision-makers, and maintaining a robust pipeline of potential clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Research and identify potential customers in the target market using tools like LinkedIn, CRM platforms, and industry-specific databases.
- Outbound Outreach: Execute outbound outreach through phone calls, emails, social media (LinkedIn), and other digital channels to generate interest in our SaaS solutions.
- Lead Qualification: Qualify inbound and outbound leads by assessing their needs, budget, and purchasing timeline to determine fit for the SaaS offerings.
- Appointment Setting: Book demos or discovery calls for the Account Executives (AEs) by clearly articulating the value of our software solutions to potential clients.
- Nurture Relationships: Maintain ongoing communication with leads who may not yet be ready to buy, ensuring they are well-informed and nurtured for future opportunities.
- CRM & Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospect interactions, lead status, and engagement in CRM systems
- Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to refine messaging, optimize lead-gen strategies, and ensure the smooth handoff of qualified leads to AEs.
- Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and the competitive landscape to better understand client pain points and present our SaaS solutions in a relevant way.
- KPIs & Reporting: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including email open rates, call connect rates, meetings booked, and pipeline growth.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to craft persuasive, concise messaging via email, phone, and social media to engage leads effectively.
- Sales Mindset: Comfortable initiating conversations, handling objections, and meeting lead generation quotas in a fast-paced environment.
- Tech-Savvy: Experience using CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoha etc.)
- Results-Driven: Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding lead generation and qualification targets.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to understand and articulate the value proposition of SaaS products to different industries and businesses.
- Adaptability & Resilience: Comfortable with rejection and continuously improving outreach strategies based on feedback.
- Team-Oriented: Able to work closely with other departments, especially marketing and sales, to ensure a smooth lead-to-opportunity conversion process.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience in a SaaS sales environment).
- Previous experience in an SDR, BDR, or similar sales role within the SaaS industry.
