Xcalar is pushing the limits of technology to help people gain deep meaningful insights from data, and our mission is to become the de facto standard for the next generation Big Data Processing and Analytics Engines. Due to our continued growth, we have an immediate need for a Field Technology Engineer to join our customer-facing team! As a core member of this team, your primary goal will be to build solutions that enable customers to derive deep insights from big data. Xcalar’s Field Engineering team is responsible for deploying a game-changing product that will revolutionize how big data is parsed, processed, and visualized across all vertical industries and government institutions.

Responsibilities

    • Understand customer problems and determine how Xcalar products can solve them
    • Early product testing for usability, performance and stability of new features
    • Capture complex customer/demo dataflows as system tests with verifiable results
    • Serve as Voice of the Customer within Engineering and Product Mgmt
    • Operate as trusted advisor within large enterprises to position Xcalar for expansion
    • Design and run performance benchmarks against leading competitor products
    • Publish case studies and technical white papers based on customer engagements
    • Build specific demos and PoCs with customer data and synthesized datasets
    • Architect, install, deploy and continuously train enterprise customers

Desired Skills and Experience

    • BS/MS in Computer Science or Mathematics (or equivalent experience)
    • Solid understanding of distributed computing principles
    • Expertise in Python/Scala/Java or an equivalent language
    • Understanding of SQL and relational databases
    • Linux administration skills, experience with bash shell scripting or equivalent
    • Understanding of cloud environments: Azure, AWS, GCP
    • Data science and machine learning experience is a plus
    • Hadoop/Spark/Open Source Software expertise is a plus
    • Willingness to travel, embed with customer teams at customer site
