Due to our continued growth, we are looking to hire a Sales Engineer to join us. As a core member of this team, your primary goal will be to represent Xcalar throughout the sales process. The ideal candidate must be able to carry on deep discussions with the customers' technical experts, as well as high-level business talks with senior executives. This position can be based in either the San Francisco Bay Area or New York.

Roles & Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain deep technical expertise in the Xcalar product portfolio
    • Design and deploy environments with the world's most powerful analytics platform on some of the largest commercial clusters in production
    • Technically support  Xcalar’s fast-growing sales team, who take on the largest industry incumbents
    • Deliver successful POCs with prospective customers
    • Work with Xcalar’s world class engineering team, who design and build high performance analytics systems, tools, and services
    • Represent the customer during product planning and design phases – includes pushing the products to their limits with new real-world use cases
    • Provide informative questions and answers to the Xcalar community forums
    • Support Xcalar’s customers onsite and remotely for on-premises and cloud deployments
    • Collaborate with frontend and backend engineers
    • Help build and bring to market the next generation big data analytics platform that interactively explores a trillion rows of data using relational operations, algorithmic modeling, and machine learning

Required Skills & Experience

    • Deep understanding of the technology and experience selling solutions for one or more of the following to enterprise accounts: big data, analytics, data science, data preparation, RDBMS, scale-out computing, data warehousing, and business intelligence
    • B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical major (M.S. a plus)
    • Expertise in Python/JavaScript/Scala/Java or an equivalent language
    • Understanding of SQL and relational databases
    • Some travel required
    • Experience with MS Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, Hadoop, Spark, and Linux Data science and machine learning experience a plus
