How you’ll make an impact
Xero is rapidly growing within South Africa and this role is a pivotal position within our sales team in South Africa and provides the opportunity to work alongside our Xero Accounting Partners. You will support, advise and guide our Partners through their first few months within the business and invite them to introductory events, help them onboard their first 5 clients onto the Xero platform and help them to achieve Bronze Partner status.
This role is responsible for managing, developing and growing small/large-tier Accounting Partners by helping them to develop and execute a digital strategy. You will provide consistent support to assist them in migrating clients on to the Xero platform, contributing to their businesses success overall. You’ll form strong relationships with your Accounting Partners and work closely with your Account Management colleagues to ensure you are working in the best way to support Xero’s overall success in all South Africa.
You will be responsible for managing the recruitment, education and growth of your partner base including monitoring all existing partners as they progress through the sales cycle as well by way of a formal Partner Engagement plan individually developed for each partner focusing on driving online strategy deep within the practice with a view to driving customer numbers up to achieve and exceed monthly targets.
What you’ll do
- The best things about being an Account Manager at Xero are that every day is different and we work at a fantastic pace. You will spend most of your time meeting remotely with Partners to understand their businesses and positioning how Xero can work with them more closely:
- Responding to all prospective partner enquiries
- Proactively contacting your partners to offer support and further develop those accounts
- Managing and responding to all incoming sales tickets from prospective, and existing partners
- Supporting existing and prospective Partners through their Xero Partner Journey from the initial Certification stage.
- Maintaining accurate information relating to sales tickets, inbound & outbound calls in our CRM system (Salesforce) at all times
- Maintaining and updating the CRM system of all practice staff and contact details, including adding new leads
- Continuously develop your knowledge of Xero features and functionality by staying up to date withXero training and Webinars
What you’ll bring with you
- Experience within Inside Sales or Account Management (essential)
- Small business accounting software experience (desirable)
- Experience in inbound phone and email sales
- Experience with computers and applications software, including the Google suite of applications and CRM database skills required
- Accounting Product knowledge and workings of an Accounting Practice (desirable)
- Previous experience in a SAAS company would be beneficial
- An interest in the emerging online accounting market
- Ability to build rapport with partners over the phone creating lasting relationships
- Attention to detail and follow-up
- Process driven and ability to take ownership
- Loads of initiative and self motivated
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
