How you’ll make an impact

Xero has grown at an incredible rate and has big ambitions to scale its growth globally, with a significant focus in the EMEA region. We are seeking a Performance Insight Lead to join the operations team to provide advanced data analytics to support the delivery of the region's growth plans. 

Reporting into the Head of Performance Insight, you will work alongside Commercial Leads and Project Managers to provide performance and insights on our operating initiatives. You will engage with key stakeholders to understand their analytics requirements and deliver fit for purpose solutions that ensure we present insight in a consistent, engaging and informative manner.

What you’ll do

    • Provide comprehensive analysis, understanding and interpretation of complex data
    • Proactively interpret multiple data sources to provide timely actionable insights to internal stakeholders to support effective business decision-making
    • Use data to communicate a clear and engaging narrative, adapting to meet the needs of various stakeholders
    • Working cross functionally with key stakeholders to understand analytical requirements, delivering fit for purpose solutions and recommend changes that facilitate improvements in process and performance
    • Owning the reporting of data in the operations function, ensuring a consistent approach
    • Provide the team with data mining and visualisation best practice and process improvements
    • Utilise our market intelligence tools to deliver insight to the team on areas of opportunity
    • Challenge the status quo, identifying and implementing creative solutions to complex problems
    • Assist with ad hoc queries and provide analytical support to the operations team

What you’ll bring with you

    • Comprehensive experience in an analytical role. Subject matter expertise in the selection, curation and communication of data insights to generate ideas and drive action
    • Ability to think strategically as well as balancing the needs to deliver tactical solutions when required 
    • Managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and being able to prioritise accordingly. Demonstrates expert ownership of complex end to end insight projects and business problems. Comfortable working with complex and diverse data
    • Experience with Salesforce (SFDC), enterprise BI platforms (inc. Microstrategy, Looker Studio, Tableau, PowerBI) ideally with the ability to interpret and query databases using SQL
    • Brings experience working in SaaS /technology environment
    • Has empathy for non-technical business users as well as being able to relate to the needs of the more technical users
    • Solid understanding of BI fundamentals, structures and practices and bringing these together to deliver effective BI solutions
    • A keen interest in BI and Analytics and confident learning new tools, technologies and methodologies, and applying accordingly
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Confident working with senior stakeholders, having significant experience addressing their business questions, challenges and identifying opportunities to optimise performance
    • Ability to work with large data sets and concisely present insights
