We're looking for a seasoned Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead our multi-year journey of migrating existing databases to managed cloud services in Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is a pivotal role that will drive a fundamental shift in our infrastructure, boosting scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency across the organization. You'll be instrumental in defining, planning, and executing this program, collaborating closely with engineering teams, product managers, and various stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition for all product teams. This significant effort kicks off with initial learnings and migrations this year, expanding considerably in the years that follow.
What You'll Do:
- Define and drive the overall program strategy and roadmap for migrating databases to AWS managed services (e.g., RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB).
- Manage detailed program plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, database, and product engineering teams to understand current database landscapes, identify migration challenges, and define effective strategies.
- Establish strong relationships with all product teams, ensuring their migration needs are met and communicating program progress clearly.
- Identify track, and manage program risks and dependencies, proactively developing mitigation plans.
- Facilitate discussions and decision-making regarding migration architectures, tools, and best practices.
- Communicate program status, risks, and dependencies effectively to all stakeholders, including senior leadership.
What You'll Bring With You:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or in a similar role managing complex technical programs.
- Proficiency in AWS and extensive experience with core AWS infrastructure services.
- Demonstrated experience with database technologies and a strong understanding of database migration methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bonus Points:
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Database - Specialty).
- Experience migrating large-scale, mission-critical databases.
- Facilitating with various database types (relational, NoSQL).
