About the Team
Xero’s ‘Catalyst Engineering’ portfolio is our platform engineering and enablement function, responsible for powering Xero’s engineers and our Partner Ecosystem with the platforms and toolchains to rapidly build innovative, robust and secure products that meet the needs of Xero’s customers. The team are at the forefront of technology adoption for Xero and include some of the best and brightest technology talent in the locations where we operate.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Architect to guide the evolution of our Cloud Platforms. Working closely with Product Managers and Engineering leaders you'll shape the technical capabilities of our platforms and toolchains in step with the products that they support and guide teams in their adoption journeys. Internal to the team you will bring the leadership, customer obsession and technical depth required to build productive working relationships with your product and engineering counterparts.

What you’ll bring with you
- You’ve worked as a Senior Architect in a platform engineering environment
- You’ve guided at least one large organisation’s cloud journey from idea to a mature, scalable, business-critical offering running large numbers of workloads across a breadth of services
- You know AWS and one of GCP or Azure really well and have created poly/multi-cloud environments across them
- You understand synchronous and asynchronous integration of complex data driven systems using APIs and events
- You can translate between high-level business strategy to an actionable platform roadmap
- You have a working knowledge of agile software development methodologies.
- You understand how to address information security, risk management, data privacy and compliance in the cloud
- You enjoy mentoring and up-skilling other architects and engineers
- You have great listening, problem-solving, communication, negotiation and coaching skills
