We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to work with our internal enablement teams

As a Senior Product Manager for Enablement within the Payroll division your primary customer will be our Payroll engineering teams. You will lead a team that is focussed on enabling our engineers to deliver value to Xero customers quickly, while ensuring we have a secure and stable platform that our product teams and Xero customers can rely on and trust. Enablement plays an integral role in Payroll being able to deliver on our vision, to empower people in small business to build thriving workplaces.

You will have the opportunity to

    • Champion the product and engineering teams as your customer, working towards providing  a world class developer experience
    • Embed customer data and insights in decision-making and assessing value and viability risks, to inform product roadmap and planning  in technical problem spaces
    • Bring a product mindset to platform and technology problems, and help embed this way of thinking in our engineering teamsIdentify tough, valuable and differentiating customer problems and frames possible solutions to test, validate and refine
    • Identify customer problems and frame possible solutions in a comprehensive and concise way. You are able to do this in a complex and technical environment
    • Taking the lead role for product in the annual and quarterly OKR process, with support from product leadership 
    • Drive success through methodical validation of a product roadmap that has our product and engineering teams at the forefront
    • Take responsibility for managing risks (in line with Xero Risk Management Standard) arising from non-functional concerns including security, privacy, regulatory change and compliance, accuracy, responsible data use and availability: consulting with stakeholders and leading
    • Work closely with peers in role modelling platform first thinking
    • Build strong relationships with the broader product funtion’s teams, collaborating effectively with your internal stakeholders
    • Monitor and analyse the ongoing performance of a product 
    • Lead and manage a product across the end-to-end lifecycle (e.g. launch through to sunset) to ensure maintenance and support throughout the life of the product 
    • Contribute to the development, implementation and training of product practices to continuously improve and standardise the best way to do product at Xero 
    • Train, coach and upskill team members to build product practice across Xero

You will have

    • Strong experience with agile processes in a software development environment
    • Demonstrated experience collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups to realise customer /commercial outcomes 
    • Solid track record of addressing customer needs through innovative use of technology
    • Effectively influenced outcomes at all levels in a variety of contexts 
    • Experience shaping successful product roadmaps and long term planning across multiple orcomplex products 
    • Experience within industry sectors relevant to Xero 
    • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, supporting and coaching team members
