We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to oversee our new engineering team in the US. The chosen candidate will be responsible for guiding the strategic direction, managing the execution of projects, and leading a distributed team of engineers across the United States and Asia. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a deep technical background, excellent management skills, and experience working with international stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead and manage a distributed team of engineers across various locations in the US and Asia.
    • Develop and execute the engineering strategy to align with company goals and objectives.
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering teams.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
    • Ensure the implementation of best practices in software development, including security, scalability, and performance.
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as product management, Customer Success management team, Product marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for engineering initiatives.
    • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of engineering staff.
    • Monitor and report on the engineering teams' performance, using metrics and KPIs to drive improvements.
    • Work closely with international stakeholders, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, to coordinate efforts and ensure seamless collaboration across time zones and cultures.

REQUIREMENTS

    • Strong background in software development and engineering principles.
    • Experience managing distributed teams across multiple locations.
    • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
    • Strong management skills, with experience in Agile methodologies.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make high-stakes decisions.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
    • Ability to guide the transition from legacy codebases to modern frameworks and technologies.
    • Experience in scaling engineering teams and managing large-scale projects.
    • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services.
