ABOUT YOU
Xsolla is looking for a commercially minded and proactive Legal Counsel to support the
continued global expansion of our network of payment service providers (PSPs). This role
will focus on structuring, drafting, and negotiating agreements with payment partners
and providing legal support for global payment operations.

You will play a critical role in helping the company scale its payment infrastructure across
multiple markets, enabling millions of users to pay seamlessly in games around the world.
This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic legal team at the intersection of tech,
gaming, and digital commerce.

Responsibilities

    • Legal Support for Payment Expansion:
    • Advise on legal matters related to onboarding and maintaining relationships with PSPs, acquirers, payment gateways, and financial institutions.
    • Provide strategic input on the legal aspects of entering new markets and structuring payment flows.
    • Contract Negotiation and Management:
    • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts with payment providers, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
    • Develop and maintain standardized agreement templates and negotiation playbooks.
    • Regulatory & Risk Awareness:
    • Monitor and interpret applicable legal and regulatory developments related to payment services (e.g., AML, KYC, card scheme rules, sanctions compliance).
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to local legal standards during PSP integrations.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with business development, product, compliance, and finance teams to support fast and compliant expansion of the payments network.
    • Help launch new payment methods and support product teams with legal input during implementation.
    • Stakeholder & External Party Engagement:
    • Liaise with external parties and build strong, trust-based relationships with payment partners and financial service providers.

Qualifications & Skills

    • Experience & Expertise:
    • Minimum 5 years of legal experience, ideally in a combination of in-house and law firm settings.
    • Strong background in commercial contracts and experience working with payment systems or in the broader fintech or gaming sectors.
    • Familiarity with global payment service structures and commercial terms.
    • Skills & Attributes:
    • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills in English (Advanced/C1+).
    • Detail-oriented and able to balance legal risk with business priorities.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working across functions and cultures.
    • Self-driven, organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, international environment.
