One of the most exciting and unique candidates in the 2020 election, Andrew Yang is an entrepreneur running for President as a Democrat in 2020. In 2011, he founded Venture for America, a national entrepreneurship fellowship, and spent helped create 2,500 jobs in cities like Cleveland, Detroit, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh. When Andrew realized that new technology like artificial intelligence threatened to eliminate one-third of all American jobs, he knew he had to do something. In The War on Normal People (2018), he explains the mounting crisis and makes the case for implementing a universal basic income: $1,000 a month for every American adult, no strings attached.

Yang2020 is looking for a research assistant to help the press and policy teams. This position will require a lot of reading, researching, and writing to a high level. No area-specific expertise is needed - this is a general research position - but experience with doing high-level research is a must.
Candidates with strong writing skills will be prioritized.

Responsibilities

    • Keep up to date on current events, and create daily summaries
    • Provide research assistance to policy team as they draft new proposals
    • Provide research assistance to press team in responding to inquiries
    • Provide research assistance to advance team ahead of travel
    • Draft potential responses to inquiries
The hiring process for this job will require several demonstrations of skill in both researching and writing. The job will be at-will, and the campaign will end the relationship if the work being done doesn't reach a high standard. The job will start part-time, but there is a likelihood that it will become full-time after quality work is established.
