We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on a project in the IT Services Sector.

You will be part of a distributed team developing new technologies to solve real business problems. Our client is the leading provider of market access and product compliance SaaS solutions and is recognized as the leading end-to-end global product compliance solution provider across the technology, consumer goods and retail, industrial goods and life sciences sectors.
We are looking for someone with good communication skills, ideally with experience making decisions, being proactive, used to building software from scratch, and with good attention to detail.
What you will do:
- Deliver high-quality, performant and maintainable code with appropriate level of test coverage.
- Help chart the path to a more distributed, cloud native architecture.
- Participate in PR/code reviews, initiate contribution to discussion amongst the team on design decisions/tradeoffs.
- When incurring technical debt, discuss the trade-off with the team, and ensure that it is paid down in future sprints.
- Keep track of emerging technologies and tools, and drive for adoption when they could bring benefit to the team.
- Mentor junior developers and work with the team to develop and carry out onboarding and training plans.
- Keep control of performance degradation in your code, and in the code your review.
- Keep control of application security vulnerabilities in your code, and in the code your review.
- Identify risks and pitfalls in the architecture and communicate to the team and the management.
- Think long term, and drive to build a robust product.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years of software development experience, including Scrum methodology.
- Strong emphasis on writing comprehensive unit tests and familiarity with modern DevOps practices.
- Proficient in using IDEs and building tools like IntelliJ and Maven.
- Prior experience managing critical production systems in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Deep expertise in Java, Spring, Hibernate stack and JVM configuration.
- Extensive experience in systems integration, including databases, and AWS.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and familiarity with tools like Kibana, Docker, Logstash, and Python.
- Experience with caching and messaging systems such as Redis and Kafka.
- Hands-on experience developing microservices in Java.
- Proficient in at least one relational database and understanding of search technologies like Solr or ElasticSearch.
- Familiarity with VanillaJS, jQuery, or any JavaScript framework like VueJS.
- Knowledge of SPAs, PWAs, session management, and browser performance.
- Understanding of CSS, including some experience with CSS preprocessing languages like LESS or Sass.
- Experience with NodeJS/Groovy on Grails is advantageous.
