We are looking for a Financial Accountant with experience in manufacturing, retail and eCommerce industry. A goal-oriented, service-minded individual with desire to grow in various aspects of accounting ranging from revenue recognition, COGS & accruals, and payroll and allocation/eliminations and oversee the accounting processes to meet operational and reporting requirements of a growing business, amongst other responsibilities. The position requires you to build strong relationships with cross-functional business partners. The Financial Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform monthly accounting close activities as assigned. Activities include coordination and information gathering from business owners and obtaining a thorough understanding of internal systems in order to prepare close analyses and  journal entries
    • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and take appropriate actions to clear all reconciling items
    • Create necessary analysis for various compliance reporting (ie. margin analysis, International sales tax filings, CSO filings)
    • Assist with external financial and tax audits. Complete requested materials and assist in preparing assigned schedules for annual and interim audit. Assist with documenting desktop procedures and processes
    • Receive, verify, reconcile and process invoices into Great Plains. Answer all vendor inquiries and resolve issues. Assist with weekly check run preparation and recording of vendor payments in Great Plains.
    • Assist in the preparation of the company’s monthly/biweekly payrolls. Input and maintain employee payroll data accurately, including new starters, leavers, salary changes, tax information, and benefits deductions.Calculate and process statutory deductions (PAYE, PRSI, USC) and other deductions accurately.
    • Prepare and submit payroll reports to relevant authorities (e.g., Revenue).
    • Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
    • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and procedures
    • Ability to keep confidential information private and maintain high levels of security and dependability
    • Other projects as needed

Requirements:

    • 1+ years of progressively responsible experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or high-tech organization with strong GAAP experience
    • Experience with Great Plains preferred or experience with major ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle

Educational Requirements:

    • BS or BA in Accounting or similar degree, Part/Newly qualified ACA, ACCA preferred
