Solutions Engineer  (San Jose, CA or REMOTE, USA)
The Solutions Engineer (SE) functions as a true partner to our customers by listening to their needs and developing a deep working knowledge of their goals, key business initiatives, technical challenges, and infrastructure configurations to deliver an outstanding experience. As a SE, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our technical solutions and our clients' needs. You will be responsible for understanding clients' requirements, designing tailored technical solutions, and supporting the implementation process.   The SE works closely with the Account Executives to identify opportunities, lead the entire Proof of Value processes, help acquire approvals from technical evaluators and assist the AE to close the sale.  The activities span positioning of all ZEDEDA’s products and include coordination and interfacing with Sales, Customer Success, Edge Academy, Marketing, Product and Engineering.


    • Client Engagement:
    • Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and technical requirements.
    • Act as a primary technical point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries and providing solutions to their technical challenges.
    • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the capabilities and features of our solutions.

    • Solution Design and Deployment:
    • With ZEDEDA’s Solutions Architects to analyze client requirements and propose customized technical solutions that align with their objectives.
    • Develop comprehensive technical proposals and documentation outlining the proposed solutions, including architecture diagrams, workflow descriptions, and technical specifications.  
    • Work closely with the development team to ensure that proposed solutions are feasible and align with the capabilities of our products or services.

    • Implementation Support:
    • Provide guidance and support to clients during the implementation phase, including configuration, integration, and troubleshooting.
    • Collaborate with project managers and developers to ensure successful project delivery, meeting both technical and business objectives.
    • Conduct training sessions for clients to facilitate the adoption and usage of our solutions.
    • Deploy proof of value projects including development of scope of work, all support for implementation, training, responding to questions, successfully completing evaluation criteria and successfully closing out POVs. 

    • Technical Expertise:
    • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices relevant to our solutions.
    • Act as a subject matter expert on our products or services, providing insights and recommendations to both internal teams and clients.
    • Participate in pre-sales activities such as solution architecture discussions, technical workshops, and proof of concept initiatives.


    • Large scale deployments, Virtualization, Edge Networking and Security, Relevant Edge applications for the corresponding verticals and ability to understand cloud based SaaS offerings
    • 6-8 years of experience in presales, Solution architecture teams with customer facing roles using engineering software
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. (Master's degree preferred)
    • Proven experience as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or similar role in a technical environment.
    • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, cloud technologies, and API integrations.
    • Ability to travel as neededExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
    • Support Sales and Marketing in prospect events including exhibits at expos, receptions, client meetings and other prospect facing activities. Experience working with enterprise clients and understanding their business processes and challenges is a plus.
    • Certifications or ability to exhibit deep knowledge in relevant technologies (e.g., Linux Operating Systems, Kubernetes, Hypervisor) are desirable.
Pay & Benefits
Zededa’s main compensation philosophy is to provide you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop with the company. The base pay range, dependent on your skills, qualifications, experience and location for this role is between $250,000 OTE and will also include commission, equity and benefits components to round out your total compensation.
