 About The Role: 
We are seeking a dynamic, entry-level Finance professional to join our fast-paced environment. The Intern, Finance will work closely with members of the global Finance team, both at Zeno and the overarching holdings company we are part of. This role is based in Chicago and reports to the Senior Financial Analyst. Successful interns will be considered for a full-time position upon completion of the internship, based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities

    • Handle ad hoc requests and projects.  
    • Assist staff with preparing and managing client budgeting and planning. 
    • Assist with client reporting, audit requests, and data collection. 
    • Calculate and track monthly revenues based on active contracts and client billings. 
    • Facilitate billing processes, conduct financial analysis, and generate reporting for individual projects. 
    • Participate in accounts receivable follow up and reporting as required. 
    • Participate in tasks related to the conversion to new financial system, including project cleanup and closing, conversion spreadsheet maintenance, and change management training.
    • Process purchase orders and work with the Accounts Payable team.  
    • Prepare and enter Service Orders for intercompany work. 
    • Review monthly fee and expense details by pulling back up documentation as needed, performing variance analysis on expenses and ensuring proper coding of expenses. 
    • Run monthly financial queries and reporting as part of month end close and upon staff request. 
    • Update financial forecasts in financial system.  

Qualifications

    • Approachable demeanor and ability to remain calm under pressure. 
    • Strong attention to detail. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management, or related field. 
    • Build relationships based on trust and respect. 
    • Collaborative work style and knows that no job is too big or too small. 
    • Desire to grow with our growing agency. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as there is significant interaction with employees across the agency. 
    • Fast learner, able to understand systems and processes quickly. 
    • Curiosity to employ our AI tools for efficiencies in streamlining and redefining existing financial processes 
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on tight deadlines. 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and an aptitude for financial and client reporting systems. 
    • Sense of humor and ability to embrace change. 
    • Unwavering integrity and professionalism when dealing with confidential information. 
$18 - $18 an hour
Pay rate: $18/hour USD
 
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
