ABOUT THE ROLE:

 Zeno is looking for a (dynamic/daring/dazzling) Design Director who can conceptualize and execute visual storytelling across projects ranging from digital presentations and RFPs to infographics and animated social media graphics. The Design Director will be responsible for developing engaging creative content for our clients that tells a rich story and elicits an emotional response from target audiences. The candidate will work closely with internal account teams and senior leaders to develop cutting-edge design that not only exceeds expectations, but over-delivers on the Unexpected. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Developing brand identity for client campaigns; designing and creating artwork for internal materials such as business cards, staff invites, etc.  
    • Day-to-day design work for planned and real-time campaigns using a mix of print, digital, social, and video. 
    • Designing and producing highly creative, impactful, PowerPoint presentations for new business pitches and client presentations.
    • Designing for client/agency collateral (social graphics/ infographics/ leaflets/invitations/brochures/coverage boards etc.)
    • HTML design for invitations/newsletters (not essential.) 
    • Manage time and establish priorities while maintaining flexibility to respond to changing demands. 
    • Liaise with account teams to ensure creative work is efficiently and effectively delivered to clients. 
    • Liaise with printers and relevant suppliers. 
    • Professionally and effectively communicate with clients, peers, and producers, demonstrating sound reasoning and judgment skills. 
    • Help communicate creative ideas in presentations to clients. 
    • Understand the concept behind creative work and how it achieves client and business goals.  
    • Have a sharp eye for layout consistency for format, and amazing attention to detail. 
    • Excel at visual storytelling, diverse graphic design, and content art direction.  
    • Regularly update your knowledge of design trends.
    • Create highly conceptual pieces of work that achieve client and business goals.   

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) and, if hired, present proof of vaccination before start date. Candidates may request accommodation due to a disability or sincerely held religious belief or an exception required under applicable law. 
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an agency setting is great but not necessary.  
    • A BFA in Fine Arts, Advertising, or Graphic Design (or requisite experience) and a strong understanding of graphic design, strong layout, and composition with a keen eye for typography. 
    • Portfolio reflecting experience in branding, presentations, infographics, digital/interactive, advertising, and print design. 
    • Strong verbal communication skills. 
    • Ability to ideate and bring creative ideas to clients and campaigns. 
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and with a fast-paced team. 
    • Ability to own projects, demonstrate good judgment when working with team members and client contacts, and take initiative. 
    • A diverse portfolio reflecting work across print, digital, and social media. 
    • Demonstrated experience with conceptualizing highly creative designs. 
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines as well as day-to-day changes at every level of detail. 
    • Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator,Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and AfterEffects is a must. 
    • Expert-level knowledge of Mocha Pro, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Maya, DaVinci, Blender, Unreal etc. is a plus 
    • Expert-level knowledge of AI design tools like Midjourney, Booth.ai, Adobe Firefly, etc., is a plus-plus. 
    • Extensive experience in creating wow-inducing digital content for various social media platforms, notably LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and Instagram  
    • A love for PowerPoint, and if not love then a healthy respect for PowerPoint. Either way, you’ll need to be aPPT wizard and know your way around Microsoft Office Suite, as well. 
    • Ability to juggle multiple assignments and work in a high-pressure environment. 
    • Availability to work off-hours when needed for pitches and presentation design (doesn’t happen a lot but it does happen). 
$86,000 - $138,000 a year
Pay range: $86,000 to $138,000/year USD
 
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
