ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking an experienced Account Supervisor to lead and support clients with crisis, issues management and public affairs assignments. You will provide sound counsel and recommendations to clients and develop and implement strategies that use both traditional and emerging public relations and public affairs tactics. You’ll gain a deep understanding of your clients—their business, products, markets, competitors, regulatory and legislative pressures and industry influencers—and craft strategies based on your knowledge and their needs. Experience with ingredient safety, agricultural policy, consumer packaged goods industry and/or public affairs expertise is preferred.
The Account Supervisor will be a leader and a doer, rolling up your sleeves and staying close to the work, developing messaging and content, monitoring and analyzing issues and helping to expand Zeno’s growing Issues Management offering.
Candidates should have outstanding writing, editing and project management skills. Critical thinking, strategy development and the ability to ‘connect the dots’ across collaborative workstreams is critical. Attention to detail is essential, along with proven experience in corporate and crisis communications, public affairs and thought leadership.
The Account Supervisor will work closely with senior-level team members across the U.S. The role also includes contributing to new business proposals and presentations and shaping the intellectual capital of the agency. You will be responsible for ensuring quality across projects and accounts while managing budgets effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Secure, maintain and grow business.
- Provide strategic counsel to clients and colleagues within the Zeno network.
- Lead client service in program planning, problem solving and strategic direction.
- Execute national corporate reputation strategies.
- Maintain financial oversight of accounts, including forecasting and profitability.
- Develop and execute media relations strategies.
- Understand industry issues affecting clients, including regulatory and legislative pressures, technologies, competitors, and market dynamics.
- Track competitor strategies and positioning.
- Collaborate across geographies to guide practice direction and priorities.
- Identify new growth opportunities based on insights into clients, industries and the broader economy.
Qualifications:
- 5–6 years of experience in PR; agency or fast-paced environment preferred.
- Strong background in crisis, issues management, public affairs or corporate communications with solid media relations contacts.
- Exceptional writing skills across deliverables such as communications plans, statements, pitches, bylined articles and blogs.
- Experience developing strategic, client-ready plans and deliverables.
- Thorough understanding of reputation management and media landscapes, with a track record of media engagement and results.
- Strong presentation skills and experience leading client meetings and new business efforts.
- Collaborative, results-driven mindset with the ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strategic, creative thinker with the confidence to voice ideas and contribute to brainstorming.
$65,000 - $94,000 a year
Pay range: $65,000 to $94,000/year USD
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
