About The Role: 
            
The Finance Manager supports the West region and reports to the Senior Finance Director, though she/he will also interface with various levels of management including interaction and coordination with Finance Managers, Finance Directors and the Chief Financial Officer.  This person will be a business partner to senior leaders primarily in Redwood and Los Angeles but also including select client leaders throughout the US and will support them in all manner of client finance roles.  This person will be based in the Agency’s Redwood City Location. 
 

Responsibilities:

    • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations.  
    • Analyze monthly budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls. 
    • Analyze operational issues impacting the business and determine their financial impact. 
    • Communicate financial policies, practices, and procedures with employees, managers, vendors, reporting agencies, and clients. 
    • Make strategic recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies. 
    • Monitor compliance with generally accepted financial principles and company procedures. 
    • Partner with US finance colleagues in supervising finance for the office, and has ongoing interaction with company’s management to gather, analyze, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, new business, trended future requirements and operating forecasts among others. 
    • Provide direction and training to employees and regional leaders on financial systems and time entry. 
    • Provide financial counsel to the agency’s West senior leadership team and other select client leaders, as required. 
    • Support Managing Director and office leaders in client finance, staff utilization/planning, over service monitoring, budgeting, billing and accounts receivable, and in the preparation of contracts and RFPs. 
    • Support monthly closing process, and manage revenue recognition for West operations, coordinating with peers. 

Qualifications:

    • 5-7 years of client finance experience preferred, with emphasis on partnering with senior leaders and good organization and communication skills. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance or accounting preferred. CPA not required. 
    • Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced work environment. 
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with special emphasis in Excel, Workday Financial experience a plus. 
    • Comfortable working independently, shows initiative and has a proactive and positive attitude. 
    • Curiosity to employ our AI tools for efficiencies in re-defining existing financial processes 
    • Demonstrate excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. 
    • Demonstrate professional behavior and pursuit of excellence in all operations. 
    • Experience working in a Marketing Communications agency setting a plus, experience in professional services is desirable.

$95,000 - $115,000 a year
Pay range: $ 95,000.00 to $115,000.00

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
