The Zoox Vehicle Electrical Architecture Team develops hardware, power distribution, network topologies, and diagnostics enablers to create an optimal autonomous vehicle architecture. The team collaborates openly and takes supportive risks. You will help develop strategies to capture diagnostics routines in the system control design, electrical architecture designs, and validation procedures for Zoox's ground-up autonomous vehicles.

In this role, you will:

    • Own diagnostics monitor and routines, requirements, modeling definition, and implementation of the necessary diagnostics services into the electrical architecture output artifacts
    • Work with System Engineers, Software Engineers, and Component Owners to drive the detection, control, and flash programming attributes best practices into electronic control units
    • Participate in tech reviews to evaluate potential suppliers and ensure proper application of Zoox diagnostics engineering standards
    • Define the vehicle diagnostics roadmap and key metrics to achieve the expected product requirements and performances
    • Coach and guide system engineers and subsystem engineers to execute requirements and designs in compliance with diagnostics best practices.

Qualifications

    • BS, MS or Ph.D. in an engineering discipline (EE, Mechatronics, Computer Science Engineering) or equivalent experience
    • At least 10 years of designing and delivering automotive diagnostics strategies (UDS1a, DOIP services, ODX generation) and experience in  communication (CAN, CAN FD, Ethernet, SOME IP GMSL, A2B, Some IP, ODX generation)
    • Experience driving decision-making at various levels in an organization
    • Ability to lead teams and work across multiple departments to deliver timely results 
    • Ability to keep the big picture in focus and to provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each audience

Bonus Qualifications

    • Experience in assessing and developing diagnostic modeling tools and over-the-air flash programming execution
    • Experience in adaptive AUTOSAR 
    • Experience in Automotive Diagnostic infrastructure (ISO 14229) implementation and subsystems applications (ECUs & Subsystems)  
    • Base knowledge of ISO 26262 and its network arch enablers 
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $162,000 to $266,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
