Software Test Engineer - Optics

Zoox is looking for a candidate with a background in Optical system technology (e.g. imaging, lasers, etc.) to support hardware testing for sensor systems in autonomous vehicles. Candidates should be able to create (or use existing) software drivers, libraries and APIs to interface with hardware (e.g. gimbals, motion stages, measurement equipment, etc.) for the purposes of systems characterization and automation. This candidate should have experience developing unit tests for code verification and should be able to write effective error-catching code for debugging and consistent operation.
- B.S. in Computer Science, Physics, or Optics
- 2+ years professional experience
- Characterization of camera systems (e.g. MTF, Intrinsics, straylight)
- GUI interfaces for testing
- End-User Documentation
- Experience with Unix/Linux
- Experience Programming with C++, Qt, Python, Git/GitHub, MATLAB
