Zoox is seeking an experienced Embedded Software & FPGA Engineer to join our Advanced Hardware Engineering team and help lead the development of safety-critical automated test infrastructures, focusing on sensors and ECUs.

In This Role, You Will:

    • Contribute to and lead the development of multi-disciplinary embedded systems projects for mission-critical validation
    • Own product lifecycles from concept, to development, to delivery
    • Architect, implement, and maintain robust C++ applications for embedded Linux systems and FPGA designs
    • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to build and enhance testing infrastructure

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience
    • 3+ years of experience with production-level FPGA development
    • Strong C++ development skills, with a focus on low-latency and high-performance code in user and kernel space
    • Experience with System Verilog and HDL Verification
    • Experience with Python and test automation with Pytest
    • Experience with Git, build systems (e.g., Bazel), and unit testing frameworks (e.g., GTest)
    • Proficiency with analyzing electronic schematics
    • Experience with Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and CAN

Bonus Qualification

    • Experience with Yocto or Petalinux
    • Knowledge of CI build and test infrastructure
    • Experience with high speed protocols like PCIe and MIPI CSI-2
    • Experience with with containerization 
    • Hands on experience with Xilinx MPSoC platforms
    • Knowledge of PCB design and manufacturing workflows
$180,000 - $245,000 a year
Base Salary Range

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
