Zoox's Vehicle Development Team is seeking an entry-level engineer to participate in an Engineering Rotational Program. The Vehicle Development Engineering Rotational Program (VDERP) is a two-year journey that invites you to explore four department rotations and gain hands-on experience across critical vehicle development system programs, such as: Geometric Engineering, Vehicle System Integration, Validation and Test Engineering, Feature Validation, Trim & Lighting, Body & Closures, and Chassis Engineering. 

This program aims for incoming engineers to gain experience in the various facets that create Vehicle System Engineering and Integration at Zoox. Following the rotation, you will return to a “Home” department with the ability to draw from your experiences and contacts made in various host departments and understand key factors that drive engineering activity.

In this role, you will:

    • Rotate between four 6-month core engineering rotations within Vehicle Development across a 24-month period.
    • Work side-by-side with engineers assigned to critical tasks, and projects using basic engineering first principles, problem-solving skills, and statics.
    • Support continuous improvement of processes using critical thinking, and technical ability to suggest best practices.
    • Receive multi-level mentorship to help guide you through your rotational journey.
    • Be challenged to rethink what it means for hardware design to arrive at elegant and efficient systems now that a robot is in control.

Qualifications

    • BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, OR Automotive Engineering
    • Relative practical experience in internships or student organizations relative to mobility, automotive, and tech industries. (i.e., FSAE, Baja, Emobility, Sustainability Club)
    • Strong academic performance
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
    • Passion for autonomous vehicle technology
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $135,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
