As a Wireless Network Engineer, you will develop, document, and execute unit and system-level validation tests for network-connected devices. This includes mission-critical 4G-LTE, 5G-NR, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth wireless interfaces, integrated with Zoox’s on-vehicle and cloud-based networks. You will collaborate with engineers to ensure network performance meets quality of service targets, including availability. You will develop and execute test frameworks for prototypes and commercial system releases, ensuring network compliance with international regulations. We seek an expert, enthusiastic, innovative, and self-starting individual to join our team.
In this role, you will:
- Execute Tests - Collaborate with suppliers to validate Ethernet and IP networks. Conduct functional, compliance, performance, environmental, and reliability tests on wireless and fixed networks. Develop and execute test cases to analyze Ethernet, IP, 4G-LTE, 5G-NR, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth behavior. Identify root causes of failures and service underperformance. Perform or commission conformance testing to meet regulatory requirements.
- Develop Test Infrastructure - Select, procure, commission, and configure test cases on network emulators and related test equipment supplied by vendors such as Keysight or Rohde & Schwarz. Develop custom test assets, setups, and scripts to enable efficient testing, including scripts using Python and TTCN. Construct and maintain lab infrastructure, from fixed network test harnesses to RF cabling.
- Generate Documentation - Draft and present Test Plans, Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, and Data Reviews. Review and provide feedback on test plans and reports from suppliers.

- Hands-on test experience with PTCRB/GCF test suites and U.S. MNO conformance testing
- Experience with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Classic/LE protocol and PHY designs, and coexistence between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
- Experience in regulatory conformance testing (e.g., FCC emission compliance)
- Ability to use network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark) and analyze network diagnostic monitors (e.g., Qualcomm QXDM logs)
- Experience using ethernet lab equipment (Ixia or Spirent), and IxNetwork or TTworkbench
Bonus Qualifications:
- Systems and networking foundational knowledge (systems architecture, memory hierarchy, storage subsystems, LANs, routing).
- Experience with: IEEE 802.3x Ethernet standards and both NRZ and PAM-4 signaling. CCNA, CCNP, CCIE certifications are a plus. Common bus protocols (SPI, I2C, MDIO). Automotive Ethernet switching chipsets (i.e., Broadcom, Marvell), TCP/IP, L2/L3, etc. Automotive Ethernet standards.
