Integration Electrical Engineer

As our integration electrical engineer, you will be responsible for the integration of custom built and third party electronics in Zoox's autonomous vehicle platform as well as take on the design of in-house electronics. We are looking for an electrical engineer who is enthusiastic, innovative, and passionate about the future of mobility and is keen to maintain a system level understanding of Zoox's autonomous vehicles.


    • Circuit board design (including part selection, circuit design and simulation, schematic capture, layout review)
    • Hardware bringup, validation and debugging
    • Cross-functional collaboration with software, mechanical, and software integration engineering teams
    • Collaboration with contract manufacturers for prototyping activities and high volume production
    • Design, fabrication and modification of harnessing for test setups, prototype and production vehicles
    • Root causing issues, proposing solutions and resolving issues in prototype vehicles
    • Keeping good documentation of harnesses and system level designs and modifications


    • BS / MS in Electrical Engineering or similar degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience
    • Experience in analog and digital circuit design including practical component selection
    • Experience using schematic capture and PCB layout CAD tools such as Altium Designer designing complex circuit boards including fabrication and board bringup
    • Experience routing impedance matched traces and high speed buses (i.e. MIPI CSI, parallel video, RGMII)
    • Experience designing wiring harnesses and drawing professional wiring harness diagrams with dedicated wiring harness CAD tools, selecting appropriate wire gauges, insulator materials and fusing
    • Experience working with electric vehicle level high voltage and high amp cabling
    • Desire to debug defects and EE issues such as power quality, high-speed signal integrity and digital interface performance to their root cause and propose a resolution, even if the issue lies outside a component your team is responsible for
    • EE Lab experience including SMD soldering and using electronic test equipment
    • Ability to perform evaluations of alternative components, providing hard data in the form of plots and tables to allow for quantitative decisions leading to product improvements
    • Be able to efficiently collaborate with team members to achieve project goals, and contribute positively to the engineering community environment

Bonus Qualifications

    • Experience working on vehicles
    • Experience developing code with any of C/C++ in a Linux environment
    • Experience with software version control, particularly GIT
    • Experience programming microcontrollers
    • Familiarity with plotting tools such as Gnuplot, Matplotlib or others
    • Shell scripting in Bash
