Fleet Operations – Base Operations
The Base Operations Process Engineer will develop an understanding of our product and all the individual service actions that will need to be performed over its life. The Process Engineer will then define and create documentation/standards that ensure all safety and business critical service procedures will be correctly and efficiently applied to our product. You will assist in planning a layout for the service operation facility for an efficient flow of vehicles that require both preventive maintenance and repair actions. The role is also responsible for identifying optimization opportunities of all actions taking place inside a service and remanufacturing depot. You will work with equipment engineering and manufacturing to identify activities within the overall service process which can be commonized or automated while also identifying the most probable failures and proactively finding solutions. Additionally, you will work with the vehicle design teams to improve components for easier routine service to help drive a more efficient and controlled process during the repair. 


    • Demonstrate proof of concept for processes related to new vehicle concepts and innovative service technologies through hands-on discovery and data collection
    • Drive and support quality processes (non-conformance, change management, audits, document control)
    • Work with technical writers to create and amend service manual for technicians to repair components and perform maintenance
    • Incorporate feedback from technicians and product managers working with equipment and vehicles to minimize product downtime
    • Define/capture required data points to validate and monitor repair efficiency  
    • Leverage knowledge of manufacturing process flow, building infrastructure development and fleet operations to layout initial service process flow
    • Work alongside internal facilities and product teams as well as be a liaison to outside consulting firms for both physical and digital infrastructure planning and deployment


    • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience with safety-critical process control 
    • B.S. Degree in an applicable Engineering Discipline (Manufacturing, Process, Systems, Electrical, Industrial) and/or experience at an MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) operation
    • Experience with process time studies and optimization techniques
    • Experience creating and maintaining PFMEA documentation 
    • Experience creating various reports and analysis tools for communicating process efficiency to the management team
    • Strong technical communication and interpersonal skills
    • Embraces a holistic problem-solving approach to identifying issues with high-level process functions and drive specific resolution into the system design
    • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment with minimal guidance; a self-starter with the ability to build relationships across the company


    • Experience with electric vehicles and autonomous systems technology
    • Experience in a Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organization
    • Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) training or certification preferred but not required
    • Experience in high precision, high assurance safety critical manufacturing or maintenance is highly desired
    • Experience with ergonomic process design, part variation control, and human factors effects on product
