The Dimensional Engineering team is looking for a dynamic, analytical, and innovative person with experience in product design and dimensional engineering who enjoys being challenged and is driven to deliver creative solutions. As a dimensional engineer, you will use your extensive knowledge and experience to define and lead in the execution of complete vehicle design for manufacture and assembly across the engineering disciplines. The Dimensional Engineering team secures the delivery of the correct concept maturity at the applicable milestones, ensuring product targets are best practice, balanced, and executed.

In this role, you will:

    • Provide applicable specifications and targets to all stakeholders
    • Identify, lead, and resolve dimensional issues
    • Perform statistical analysis using applicable simulation software
    • Define, verify, and align gap and flush requirements
    • Validate system and component GD&T is compatible with the complete vehicle strategy and correctly defined on applicable documentation
    • Monitor production process and control

Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science degree within mechanical engineering or similar
    • 8+ years of dimensional engineering experience
    • Knowledge of ASMEY14.5 GD&T standards
    • Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and process control (Six Sigma)
    • Knowledge of Variation Simulation Analysis (3DCS software)
    • Knowledge in automotive plastic, sheet metal and casting parts
    • Knowledge of measurement systems and manufacturing processes
    • Understanding of the dimensional engineering deliverables within a vehicle development process
    • Experience in in Product Lifecycle Management adopted in automotive (ex-Jira)
    • Strong cross functional experience with Studio, Engineering, Suppliers and Quality

Bonus Qualifications

    • Familiarity with ISO GD&T Standards
    • Knowledge of CATIA V5, CATIA V6, and visualization software
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $155,000 to $255,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
